For our second show, “The Artemesias” has created paintings and sketches of our bodies while discussing our experiences of distrust, manipulation, stigma, media, and hope within these bodies. This has been an important process because traumatic experiences have caused us to disassociate with our bodies in different ways. One avenue back to our bodies has been through embodiment healing. By drawing upon our bodies for inspiration in facing the physical realm of our experiences, we share and celebrate the different truths of what our bodies mean to us. This exhibition shares how we have viewed our bodies in the past, how we view them now, and how we can move forward looking at them with kinder eyes. We believe that talking about our experiences uncovers the truth, affecting healing in our lives.
